Do you know what the Original Equipment Part Number is? If so let us know; it will help to compare the original specifications for your part. [back]

Total Length

What is the approximate length from the handle mount to the lever to be operated. Make sure you allow for enough cable to follow as direct a route from the handle to the end of the cable without kinking or making too many sharp bends. Also do not make it too long so you have an excess of cable length. [back]

Cable Diameter

Cable Diameter effects the strength of the push/pull cable; however you want to get one that fits the existing connections and will do the right job. [back]

End Fittings

Check what kind of cable end you need to attached the cable to the valve or lever check here for reminders. [back]

Total Travel

Determine the distance the end of the cable has to move to be fully at each end of the travel that the valve stem or the lever must travel to be fully engaged or disengaged. [back]

Holding Clamps

Determine if the cable need to be tied to the frame of the machine and how many clamps you might need. [back]

U Bolts

The operating end of the cable most often needs to be clamped with a u bolt to keep the outer covering stationary while the inner cable slides in and out. [back]

Brake Handle

If you are installing a hand brake cable - do you need a break lever?. Determine the bolt pattern of the old one or if installing a brand new one if you have enough flat area to drill for the bolt holes.
